Successful Irish Americans in Business & the Professions
Rory McCreesh Duce Construction Corporation New York City
Born in Ireland, founder Rory McCreesh, was educated at the Marist College and then at Newry Technical College, where he took honors in Art, English, Commerce and Technical Drawing. His professional career in Ireland began in electrical engineering. Like so many whose talent was greater than the opportunities of their hometowns, Rory was attracted to New York. In 1985, he was convinced to stay on by many Americans he had befriended. Rory's career flourished in every building trade, but he was particularly gifted in carpentry and project management. He soon became the carpentry foreman and then the general foreman because of his strong leadership skills and knowledge.
Just five years later, Rory registered Duce Construction Corporation and began building additions to, and renovating homes in Brooklyn, Queens and Long Island NY. Today Duce Construction is ranked as one of the top Builders and Construction Management Companies in New York City, Westchester and Connecticut for its specialization in building and renovating high-end residential homes and luxury apartments.
Rory has a strong community spirit having donated his time and workforce to help the Kips Bay Children's Charity. A serious participant in New York's Irish community, Rory has been a member of the Armagh Association for several years and was honored as their Man of the Year in 2003 for success in business. Rory is an avid cyclist and is entering his sixth year as a baseball coach for Bayside Little League.
