Irish Fair Celts 5K and Family Fun Run 1K! The 2009 Run with the Celts 5K and Family Fun Run 1K will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2009. The 5K race will be on a certified race course that starts and ends on the festival-grounds at Harriet Island. And the Family 1K, which also starts and ends at Harriet Island, is an enjoyable event that families can do together. The Family 1K Run/Walk starts at 9:00 a.m., and the 5K Run/Walk starts at 9:30 a.m. Both the 5K and Family 1K start and end at Harriet Island. The Family 1K is $12.00 in advance or $15.00 on race day. The 5K Run/Walk is $20.00 in advance or $24.00 on race day.Again, thank you for supporting the Run with the Celts and the Irish Fair of MN! Saint Paul St Patricks Day Human Race 2009 Since 1973, the St. Patrick`s Day Human Race has been your way to rejoice in the end of winter, coming of spring and, of course, St. Patrick`s Day! With a 5K, 8K and youth run, there is an event for everyone. What is the Human Race?Why does this event use the tag Human Race? In 2005 a scientific article was released that caught our attention. The authors claimed that the human body has evolved to be the shape it is because of running. That`s what we have thought all along, that running isn`t just something we do, it makes us human!As usual, this event is both competitive and fun. The 8K run is the USATF Minnesota 8K Championship event and is on the Minnesota Distance Running Association (MDRA) Grand Prix. We also have a 5K walk/jog, youth run, shoe drive and more!
