The First Ever Fourteeth Annual World’s Shortest St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Everybody is Irish in Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas on March 17th!
You want zany? We got some zany.
The lineup is set and the fans are sending their green leprechaun suits to the dry cleaners as planning proceeds for The First Ever 14th Annual World’s Shortest St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 17, 2017, on the World’s Shortest Street in beautiful Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas.
You want some star power? How about Alfonso Ribeiro, star of TV’s “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” winner of “Dancing With the Stars” and host of the popular “America’s Funniest Home Videos.” He’ll be the 2017 Celebrity Grand Marshal on the 98-foot Bridge Street parade route. He’ll join a list of previous Celebrity Grand Marshals that includes 2016’s Michael & Kevin Bacon, The Bacon Brothers; Bo Derek and John Corbett (both of whom led the parade twice); Jim Belushi; Tim Matheson; George Wendt; Mario Lopez, and others.
You want MORE star power? We got it. The Official Starter for the 2017 Parade will be the incomparable Ric Flair, the best-known pro wrestler on earth. Gary Busey and Mountain Man from “Duck Dynasty” have officially started previous parades.
More, you say? How about Uncle Kracker putting on a free concert when the parade ends? The dancing on Bridge Street will go on into the night.
Oh, and this year there will be 12, count ‘em, 12, Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders instead of the traditional six.
The World’s Largest Leprechaun has fully recovered from fun-overdose after last year’s Parade, and is getting himself in shape for the 2017 version.
The world-famous Kissing of the Arkansas Blarney Stone Contest — with cash prizes! — will be on the day’s schedule, of course, and participants are getting new taps on the Irish jig shoes, putting the final touches on their floats and musical groups. We’ve had to limit the entry list to 40 units, or else the fun would go on forever.
Past participants have included the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders — of course — the (in)Famous Texas Tortilla Queens, the one and only Gary Busey, “Duck Dynasty’s” Mountain Man, and the San Diego Chicken.
In addition, the parade will feature such delights as a troupe of marching Irish Elvis impersonators; Irish belly dancers; Irish dogs; a fire truck as long as the parade route, and dozens of floats and marching units; loud music, and some Irish bagpipers
Is all this zany enough for you?
We thought so.
So get ready to join 30,013 fellow revelers in Hot Springs on March 17, 2017.
Fun and hilarity await you.
