Lets celebrate and go completly wild for 2010!
So, why is it celebrated on March 17th? One theory is that that is the day that St. Patrick died. Since the holiday began in Ireland, we spread out all over the world taking with us our history, music, celebrations, intelligence, personality and of course the craic! With the exception of restaurants and pubs, almost all businesses close on March 17th. Being a religious holiday as well, many of us attend mass. March 17th is a traditional day for offering prayers for missionaries worldwide before the serious maddness and craic begins :o) Just click on your link for Carlow, Cavan, Cork, Donegal, Dublin, Galway, Kerry, Kilkenny, Laois, Leitrim.
