La Crosse Irish Fest

The Shamrock Club of Wisconsin was formed in 1960 by individuals interested in promoting Irish Heritage.  Since that time, the club has grown into one of the largest ethnic organizations in the state, with chapters spread throughout Wisconsin.  Each chapter operates independently serving their particular area’s Club needs.  The Greater La Crosse Area Shamrock Club, inc. was started in 1973.

Lace up your sneakers and grab your kilt!. It would be hard to imagine a more appropriate time to sport the old kilt than participating in a true Irishfest La Crosse sporting event. Irishfest La Crosse and Killian’s Irish Red Lager proudly present the Annual Killian’s 5K Kilt Run/Walk.

The Killian’s 5K Kilt Run/Walk will proceed along the beautiful, scenic, paved Riverside Park Trail. The run/walk is not intended to be a race or feat of strength and will not be timed. Participants needing a rest are encouraged to do so. A limited supply of Killian’s Irish Red will be available at the finish line for participants who are 21 years of age or older, so don’t rest too long.

Kilts are encouraged, but are not mandatory. All participants in a kilt will be eligible to win a Killian’s Irish Red/Irishfest La Crosse Prize Package! Homemade kilts count too! If you choose not to wear a kilt, please show your Irish spirit in your own unique way.
