Toronto St Patricks Day Parade

St. Patrick’s Parade Society Mission Statement

The St. Patrick’s Parade Society are the custodians of a tradition to celebrate Ireland’s history, culture and heritage through entertainment. We are a not for profit event staging organization responsible for The Grand Marshal Ball and The St Patrick’s Day Parade.

The Toronto St. Patricks Day Parade begins at noon with the procession starting from Bloor and St. George (near old U of T Varsity Stadium). The Parade will continue along Bloor Street down Yonge and finishes on Queen Street at Nathan Philips Square. As the new Chairman of the St Patrick’s Parade Society, I would like to thank the outgoing executive, most of who are returning for 2015, for their dedicated efforts and also Paddy Canavan for his leadership as Parade Chairman over the past years.

The new executive’s goal is to have one million people lining the parade route over the next three years. In the coming months, we will be reaching out to the community to come up with plans to make this happen while increasing the amount of floats/ bands and involvement of our multicultural ethnic groups in the Parade.

Over the last number of years some counties were not represented in the parade so we will endeavour to work to have all 32 counties represented. As we all know Canada has graciously allowed many young Irish working visas and we will be encouraging these new Irish to participate in the parade.
