President Roosevelt fostered co-operation between the U.S. and Canada. In recognition of this the two governments jointly administer this Roosevelt Campobello Memorial. Campobello Island is where Franklin D. Roosevelt spent many holidays.

National Historic Trails in Maine :

Appalachian National Scenic Trail, starts in Maine on its 2,175 miles path to Georgia . It was America's First National Scenic Trail ( also known as The People's Path). Beautiful wild scenery & cultural history abound.
