The John H. Chafee Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor is the birthplace of the American Industrial Revolution. This is where the America's metamorphosis from Agriculture to Industry started. The Blackstone River provided the power for the mills. The first successful textile mill in America was the Slater Mill in Pawtucket, RI. The Corridor straddles the Blackstone River between Worcester in Massachusetts to Providence in Rhode Island and offers a wealth of Cultural & Industrial Heritage. The Corridor is an important Massachusetts heritage attraction.
