WASHINGTON DC TOURIST ATTRACTIONS

National Historic Trails in Washington DC :

One of the new DC Tourist Attractions is the Captain John Smith Chesapeake National Historic Trail which was launched December 19, 2006. The Historic Trail commemorates Smith's historic exploration voyages in 1607-1609 on the Chesapeake Bay and connected river systems. This helped establish Jamestown as the first successful English colony in North America.

The Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail commemorates George Washington's vision of an economic corridor from the Potomac River and the Allegheny Highlands which includes Washington DC.
